Hospital del Mar Research Institute

Inaugurated in 1948 by Dr. Alexander Fleming, the Hospital del Mar Research Institute is a centre of excellence for biomedical and health research.

IMIM is part of the Parc de Salut Mar consortium, and it is made up of more than 700 professionals, with a mixed composition of IMIM researchers and clinical researchers from Hospital del Mar and other researchers from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and BarcelonaBeta Brain Research Center Foundation (BBRC).

University College Cork’s School of Public Health & the National Suicide Research Foundation

University College Cork (UCC) and the National Suicide Research Foundation (NSRF) are formally bound by a Memorandum of Collaboration and have cooperated extensively across a wide variety of research projects for over 20 years. UCC and the NSRF jointly contribute to the PERMANENS project. The NSRF is an independent, multi-disciplinary research unit based in Ireland that provides a nationally and internationally recognised body of reliable knowledge on the risks and protective factors associated with suicidal behaviour and self-harm. Through their collaborations, UCC’s School of Public Health and the NSRF continue to provide solid evidence to inform policy development and intervention in the prevention of suicide and the management of patients presenting with self-harm.
